web hosting services comparison
leased a wiredtree server for almost 3 years. Here is my review…
Reason I Went With WiredTree
I got a i7 920 with 12gb of ram and 2x500gb hdd. The reason I went with them was because they are fully managed and they had an option in their signup process that lets you set up mysql in the 2nd harddrive. For those with busy sites, this was excellent. It help a lot with I/O and was also a selling point for me.
Also they had LiteSpeedtech at a $10 discount for the 4 core license which was nice. I ended up paying a total of 300 for this setup with cpanel included, fully manage, and lightspeedtech.
Their Network
They have a great network now. When I first started with them I don’t remember their network to be as good. In my years with multiple companies wire tree is probably the only one to expand like this. Like upgrade their network and such.

I think my server was probably down 3-5 times (I don’t remember exactly) in all the years I been with them. Never had a problem with hardware ever. Never failed on me.
Their Support
web host comparison charttly don’t know how many tickets I have submitted over the years, but I’m guessing less than 15. My websites were fine. When I first had gotten the server, they set it up, harden it, secured it, as part of their proactive support I think. Which was cool. Setup was probably 48 hours, so wasn’t too bad.
The worst support e-mail I got was probably when I asked to optimize mysql. The response from the ticket person was “I installed mysql tuner” That’s cool and all but I already had that. And it doesn’t optimize your mysql. It just tells you what it thinks needs to be optimize. I’m not sure if she did anything after installing mysql tuner. I just didn’t respond to that ticket.

Other than that, nothing much else except my cancellation ticket which I will talk about next.

Cancellation Process
The reason I canceled was because my websites were getting to big for one server so I decided to head out to another company and get a small cluster setup. I’m sure wiredtree does this too but the other company I contacted had a very good deal that was too good to pass up.
I submit my ticket about 10 days before the deadline on a Sunday. I didn’t get a reply until Tuesday. The reply stated that billing doesn’t work on Sundays, but only weekdays. Okay, but where were you on Monday? I had to rebumb my ticket to get a reply from them by Tuesday. I didn’t want to get charge 300 dollars extra if I didn’t meet the cancellation deadline. I gave my reasons to why I was leaving and we said our thank you.
So the bad part about this is here. They canceled my Cpanel license 6 days before I told them to take my server offline. I’m not a server expert but I still needed some files. Even though I had already backed it up. I thought they shouldn’t have canceled my cpanel license until they actually took down the server completely. I mean it’s not too big of a deal and I never contacted them about it, but it sorta left that bitter taste in my mouth. Again not a big deal, just a tiny one.
Conclusion
So in conclusion Wiredtree is a solid company with a sold network and good support. I would recommend wiretree to any of my friends and business partners. Thanks for the great service throughout the years.
